A very tragic incident unfolded in Miami, Florida the last 24th, just a few days ago. A part of a condo building of 12 floors situated in Surfside in Florida just collapsed to the ground around 1.23 AM.
This is a very tragic incident that came out of nowhere, taking an unaccounted number of residents, tourists, and visitors down with the structure. The authorities and the first responders are still on site, working as fast and hard as they can to rescue any survivors in the debris. After 24 hours of this tragedy, the reports showed that there 150 unaccounted people missing, and unluckily, 4 were found dead.

55 units of the total 136 unit building complex have fallen and there is a lot of debris to work in. Although it seems to be impossible, the authorities and the people who are working at the site refuse to give up. They are using every possible perk they have to locate and rescue survivors. Rescue dogs and Cameras are used to reach lengths that people cannot reach at the moment.

The people who are trapped in the neighboring condos which still are intact to the rest of the building are rescued by air support. And there are reports of fire as well, the rescuers have to handle multiple threats in this process.

The first 24 hours of effort recovered 35 survivors while the operations still search for the others. Florida has been issued the emergency declaration as President Biden made arrangements to facilitate the rescue operations.

Many embassies such as the Colombian, Argentinian, Uruguayan, Venezuelan and a couple have issued a count of their people who were in the units that collapsed while most of them are not yet identified.

Mayor Cava addressed the matter saying that no evidence of a reason is still found. But he said that every possible reason is still on the table until one is proved and confirmed.
