When this happens the strained relationship between the parents/ married couple can cause one parent to have a closer bond with the child. This can cause the parents to distance themselves while one becomes attached to the child while the other feels left out and might start to ‘hate’ their spouse or sometimes the children too.

This creates huge friction in the family unit and also the family that the child is marrying into and the one he/she is creating with their spouse. This might be a common thing in some families, but this can ruin families and lives unnecessarily.
