The Australian firefighters have been creating these calendars since 1993 – that’s 27 whole years! The profits made from the calendars go towards various Australian charities, including Healing Hooves, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and BackTrack. What’s unique about this year’s calendar is that it’s the first year to feature firefighters from France and Germany. And we got some more good news for you: next year, an International Firefighters Calendar will be launched, meaning more ripped firefighters paired with even more adorable animals.
The good part of the story, apart from the ‘firefighters + kittens’ combo, is that these calendars support charities with a focus on native Australian, rescue, and therapy animals.
“We felt that it was important to help some of the smaller charities that the public never hears about. These grassroots organizations work tirelessly in their local community making a huge difference to people’s lives” says David Rogers, Director of the Australian Firefighters Calendar.
