Mandy Stantic drove with her family around Lac Brochet, Northern Manitoba, to bear-spot. She saw something that made her want to grab her camera and take some photos. The wild bear was relaxing on a sofa that had been thrown away.
The bear relaxed like a human. He crossed one leg over the other and placed one arm on the armrest. Stantic explained to The Dodo the bear was probably full and ready to lay on the couch. She stated that all he needed to relax was popcorn and Netflix.
Stantic and her family watched the bears from their car and couldn’t stop laughing. Mandy said, “It’s all the woods surrounding the dump for hundreds of miles.” They have plenty to eat, but there are not enough berries in spring, so they congregate there.
Stantic took some photos of the bear lounging before she moved on, but that moment will stay with her forever. You don’t often see this. She said that he is just pretending to be a human. After his photos were shared on social media, this black bear became an internet sensation.
