The black-throated bushtit, also called black-throated tit, is a tiny passerine bird that belongs to the family Aegithalidae. The species currently has six identified subspecies.
This bird is 10.5 cm long, and around 4-9 g. Though the plumage varies considerably, all subspecies have a medium length tail, a black throat, and a black ‘bandit mask’ around the eye. It generally lives in open broadleaf forests and pine forests located in middle altitudes. Black-throated tits usually feed on fruits and small insects.
Chen Chengguang, a Taiwanese wildlife photographer has captured some stunning pictures of these birds. He has beautifully caught on camera the plumage of this gorgeous bird, and you can’t help but imagine how it would feel like to pet these adorable, fluffy little birdies.
