These identical twins look nothing alike. Their fan base began to grow since just a few minutes after their birth. The fandom drastically went up from a few nurses at their birth hospital to 19k people worldwide, in approximately two years, thanks to their unique story.
Some would say they’re non-identical twins but they are actually biologically identical. The difference is that the younger twin was born with albinism, so Daniel, the elder twin, is black with dark hair and David, the younger one, is fair with blond hair.

“It seems you have totally non-identical twins,” was what the doctors told Stacy, the twins’ mother, when they first saw the light of the world. “We did not know about their differences while I was pregnant; the scan did not show such so it was a huge surprise and the most amazing moment was when the first twin (Daniel) came out with black hair and the second twin (David) came out with gold hair,” she told Bored Panda.

Albinism is a congenital disorder generally resulted by the biological inheritance of genetically recessive genes. In humans, it is characterized by the complete or partial absence of the skin pigment melanin. The presence of melanin is of vital importance for optical development so albinism is accompanied with several visual defects and an increased risk of skin cancers.

About one in 18 000 to 20 000 people has a form of albinism and Nigeria is ranked as the country with highest rate of the condition. However, David and Daniel’s mother confirmed that David is completely healthy.
The twin’s dad was also overwhelmed and fondly named David “Mr. Golden”. He stood for more than 10 minutes staring at them and said that he was just looking at God’s wonderful work and that they are his best gift ever. They also have an elder daughter who was nothing less than ecstatic to welcome her two brothers.

Today, a mass of 19K people await to see the photos of the adorable twins dressed in matching outfits and accessories that their proud mommy posts on their official Instagram account. She proudly said, “We believe they have a story to tell the world, and also a way of creating awareness.” The boys have even gotten several modeling offers in the UK and clothing brands have taken huge interest in them.
Despite the positive comments from the admirers, there are also those who can’t accept a person for who they are. Such people throw rude remarks such as “which one is yours” on the face without hesitation.

Being a bit abnormal to be called twins, it is indeed difficult to not become the cynosure wherever they go. Stacy commented to Bored Panda, “There’re always side talks whenever we go out, people often want to know how and what’s happening and maybe due to their cute and adorable nature, you just want to come close to say hello.”
In addition to difference in their skin color, they also have their own unique preferences and behavioral patterns. “Daniel is more expressive while David is an observer. Both of them are highly inquisitive. Daniel is a foodie while David is quite picky; Daniel is extremely playful while David chooses moments; Daniel always likes to play the bigger brother role; they are both energetic.”

The brothers in fact have a message to the people on earth who tend to criticize and think differently of those who are different from them. Self-love and accepting one’s own self is all that matter while dealing with people that have different opinions in the society. And that’s what Stacy is teaching the boys. The boys love each other’s company and after all, what else matters for an adorable brotherhood?
