Don’t have enough time to take care of your little garden? Then, these succulents would be the perfect solution for you!

What makes them really special is their striking and atypical appearance. On account of that, succulents are grown as ornamental plants and one can surely find four or five of these if they stroll through an office.

Succulents can take the most peculiar shapes ranging from bonsai to mermaid tails. If you fall in love with them and want to grow some for yourself, read on till the end. They can store water in almost any structure including stems and leaves giving them the ability to survive in ecosystems with scanty water resources. Parts of these plants are thickened and fleshy as they store huge amounts of water. This is why succulents are preferred as houseplants.

Taking care of them is easier than almost all other types of plants but you still have to do the easy part right. Beginners can make mistakes but if you understand the art, you’ll soon have a beautiful yet unusual mini-garden.

Emulating the natural light of the native habitat is perhaps the most difficult part. Just because succulents are desert plants, they shouldn’t be kept 12 hours straight in the sunlight. But still, the sunniest window available would be the most appropriate.

Soak the plant in water completely, until water drains out from the bottom and wait until the soil dries entirely to water again. Also, it’s better to use a desert-dweller mix instead of standard potting soil. Although they tend to come packed together, leaving them crowded would be an encouragement for mold and infections. Give them enough space, otherwise they’ll miss much due to competition for food and water. Finally, if you want them to be picture-perfect, wipe off the dust frequently and gently as possible.
