Everyone would agree that there is always space for dessert, no matter how full you are after dining. However, eating a slice of cake straight after supper may easily lead to a “food coma” — instead, why not go for some fruit as a healthy option? Tastemade Japan has created a video lesson on making tasty and visually beautiful fruit blossom sandwiches at home to make ordinary fruit more fun!
You’ll need the following ingredients to create 6 sandwiches:
– 12 white bread slices
– Fresh cream, 200 ml (6.7 fl oz)
– Mascarpone cheese, 200 g (7 oz)
– granulated sugar, 30 g (1 oz)
– Fresh fruit of your choice, such as strawberries, kiwis, tangerines, and other citrus fruits
A video from Tastemade Japan shows how to create these delectable fruit sandwiches at home.

Step 1:Make the cream filling

In a mixing dish, combine the fresh cream and granulated sugar and whisk for 6 minutes. After that, add the mascarpone cheese and continue to mix for another 7 minutes.
Step 2: cut the fruit into shapes

Let your creativity go wild as you chop the fruit into various shapes.

For neater forms, a cookie-cutter may be used.
Step 3: Fill in the gaps with the filler

Spread the cream filling on one piece of bread, then top with the fruit, other creams, and another slice of bread. Carry on with the rest of the bread pieces in the same manner.

Place kiwi slices in a line overlapping each other, add a little cream on top, then roll it all into a tube to produce a lovely kiwi wrap.
Step 4: Cover in plastic wrap and set aside to cool.

Wrap the sandwiches in plastic wrap and put diagonal marks on the top, so you know which way to slice them to get the floral effect. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to chill.
5th step: cut in half and eat!

Following the diagonal marks, you established before, cut the sandwiches in half. In the end, the cross-section should display lovely flowers. Enjoy!
