This news is not gonna sound good to all the TikTok lovers out there. The Indian government has decided to ban 59 Chinese-made apps including the popular TikTok and WeChat apps.

China and India have been having issues in terms of the two country’s border in the Himalayan region. As we all know, most of the superpowers in the world have issues either between themselves or them and other less powerful countries. India is an emerging superpower that can be a challenge to China in the future.

Following this issue, recently, there was a conflict between the two country’s troops in the Kashmir region, leaving 20 Indian troops dead. China has been accused of building new structures near the site of the conflict and both sides are accusing each other of breaking agreements. The Indian government is stating that China is stealing the critical Indian user data of these apps. Therefore, they are of the opinion that the alleged behaviors of the apps is a threat to the national security of India and they banned the apps since the issue at hand required immediate measure.

India banning TikTok is going to hit the Chinese TikTok market profit drastically because India is TikTok’s biggest foreign market with over 120 million user base. However, other powerful countries like the US too are accusing the app of stealing user data and sending them to China.
