Every individual has a favorite hobby, such as taking romantic beach walks, trekking, picking up pebbles, painting hauntingly lifelike human eyes on them, and then returning them to the environment – you know, everyday things.

We’re not sure about the first two, but we’re very sure Australian artist Jennifer Allnutt enjoys the latter pastime. According to the artist, she got the idea for the piece after visiting Queenstown, Tasmania, which has a long mining history. Jennifer became aware of a plethora of strange pebbles and began drawing eyeballs on a few of them. And what began out as a personal endeavor turned into a collaborative art project and treasure hunt.
