Whatever the circumstances you might be in, you must never let that stop you from being creative. Creativity sparks good mental health and satisfaction, and it is very easy to find creative activities even in our daily life. Even when you come across a random artwork, put on some rags or bedsheets, pose like the person in the artwork, and snap a hilarious picture, there’s creativity in it.
This challenge is now going viral, and museums are requesting the general public to remake drawings at home, during the quarantine. Also, countries like Spain and Russia have opened their own social media pages to share their local takes on it. It’s both funny and heartwarming at the same time that many people are actively taking part in this challenge.
Listed below are a few of the best recreations from the Instagram page ‘Tussen Kunst & Quarantaine’ from the Netherlands, which can be translated to ‘Between Art and Quarantine’. This account is reportedly inspired by the ‘Getty Museum Challenge’.
We challenge you to recreate a work of art with objects (and people) in your home.

Annelose Officier, the communication specialist of ‘Tussen Kunst & Quarantaine’ Instagram page, started the project domestically with her roommates. The first post shared on the page was a remake of ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ by Vermeer, and her followers were very interested in it instantly.
The project eventually went viral as the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam started following Officier’s page. Presently, many museums across the globe such as; The MET (New York), The Louvre (Paris & Abhu Dhabi), etc have joined hands with this project.

Reading, creative writing, poetry writing, and language learning have been my passions since I was young. I have won many Japanese and Chinese language competitions, and many national-level creative writing, art & oratory competitions too. I am still schooling, and passed my O/Levels with distinction passes for English Literature, Japanese, and English. I have also completed my Certificate of Human Resource Management.
