Have you ever watched the film Midnight in Paris? The film isn’t so much about the city as it is about our infatuation with it. Woody Allen wonders why strolling through the streets of Paris seems more potent than dreaming about it. Our fascination with historical European sites isn’t limited to historical European landmarks. In conclusion, we see the world through a distorted lens. No, there is a slew of other causes – we’re all too easily influenced.

“What’s something we need to stop normalizing?” Redditor u/Buttercuppy44 asked other users last week. And it turned out to be a conversation we desperately needed to have. People immediately responded with a slew of precise and proper instances.

They are bringing a sick child to work. People are sometimes rewarded for this, but in reality, they are putting others at risk of being ill as well, and in the end, it costs the firm more than if they had just stayed at home.

We are ignoring retail and food, service employees. We work hard all day, deal with the worst clients imaginable, and are underpaid to support our families, yet we do it nonetheless. For a fraction of what it’s worth.

And also, you’re carrying an unhealthy amount of weight. I’m not talking about being in shape and making others feel self-conscious about their appearance. They’ll believe it’s OK for your body to carry so much weight around that your heart and lungs have to work extra to keep you alive. As you age and your body slows down, it will have catastrophic consequences later in life. You’ll be in danger of cardiovascular problems, you’ll most likely die young, and you’ll spend the last few years of your life bedridden while you waste away.
