Here are 9 reasons why an elder sister is more than family, a friend for life, and a person who gives you hope when nothing seems right.
#1 They develop your personality
No matter how much a blessing an elder sister can be, she can be rude sometimes. There are so many character-building situations when she ignores you to spend time with her friends, or when she is not interested in playing with you. You learn a lot that way.
#2 The conversations you have are real
A big sister is always there for you when you need someone to talk to. She will always keep all your secrets.
#3 She taught your parents too
Any mistake you might make, your big sister did them all before. So now your parents know what to expect from you, and they will understand you better.
#4 You can vent all your hidden emotions on her
If you vent at your friends, the friendship won’t last for too long. But your sister will always bear them up, forgive you and love you.
#5 She will be your driver
Your big sister will drive you around till you get your license. Awesome, isn’t it?
#6 Just copy her!
A big sister is the ideal person to copy. She has already done everything you need to do, and knows what and when to do the right thing, be it high school, jobs, or even relationships.
#7 She got your back, always
No matter what life gives you, your sister will always have your back and you will have hers. This can’t be said about any sibling pair, though.
#8 She’s the best person to take advice from
Your big sister cares about each and every choice you make and every decision you take. So, you can always count on her to give you sincere advice. She knows how to handle things better and will do her best to keep you out of trouble.
#9 She will teach you all the grown-up stuff
Learning grown-up stuff from other people, even parents can be pretty uncomfortable and weird sometimes. But you don’t have to worry if you have a big sister, she will help you through it all.
