1. Increased thirst and urination
The most common symptoms of diabetes are increased thirst (polydipsia) and frequent urination (polyuria). When you pee more, you feel dehydrated and therefore you drink much water which causes continuous urination.

When your body can’t produce enough insulin or if it doesn’t respond to it in the normal way, it can’t convert food into glucose. So you may feel constant hunger even after eating. When you eat more blood sugar goes high. So you need to watch for this if you hungry all the time.
3. Fatigue
When you feel hungry all the time, it also makes you feel sleepy and tired. Your body doesn’t have enough glucose to give you energy and frequent urination means you feel exhausted altogether. But remember that fatigue can be the symptom of many other diseases as well. So you need to check up with a doctor when you feel fatigued all the time.
4. Blurred vision
When you are sure blurred vision is not a sign of eye disease, it can most probably be a sign of diabetes. When fluids shift, lens your eyes swell and change shape. So you might not be able to focus properly. But with treatments, this would go back to normal.
5. Unexplained weight loss
If you have diabetes you would surely experience a sudden weight loss for no reason. What happens here is as your body can’t use glucose to produce energy, it uses fat and muscles for that function. So you will face for a weight loss. Dehydration also causes weight loss as the body uses fluids to produce energy.
6. Itchy skin
Your body takes fluids from everywhere including your skin to produce urine. Dry skin results in making you itchy. These scratching can lead you for various skin infections as well. Yeast infections can also cause itchy skin which is common with diabetes.
7. Slow healing
Because of high blood sugar, there is poor circulation of blood and it also increases inflammation in cuts and sores. Therefore it is hard for blood to reach and repair damaged skin cells. Especially, when there is a wound in diabetic patient’s feet it can lead to various other injuries.
8. Dark skin patches
You may see dark patches of skin with a velvety texture in the areas of the body that constantly folds such as neck, armpits, groin, elbows, behind knees and knuckles of fingers. These features can also be seen in healthy people as well. So if you are not sure the best thing to do is to have a check-up.
9. Numb hands or feet
Numbness or the pains in hands and feet are also a common sight of diabetes. Because of poor blood circulation, there can be nerve damage. So the parts which are far away from the heart like hands and feet get affected first.
