Unlike the traditional animal rescue organizations who would save cats & dogs, this non-traditional animal rescure operation focuses on goats and sheep. You might have never heard of such a rescue of livestock, but here they are and let us show you who they are.
This operation provides these poor animals an animal sanctuary to live their lives, free of fear and being ill treated. Jen Scurman of the Shepherds-Rest-Goat-and-Sheep-Rescue explains that they focus on animals who are abused, not properly treated, or even if their owners have no means of providing them their necessities. They are brought to the sanctuary to live their lives as free animals, without being bred and abused for a specific service their entire lives. This operation urges people to look beyond the general ideas of animal rescue, without limiting this idea at cats and dogs. These poor animals who are abused in hands of a lot of people just using them, has little to no help. So, this rescue team tries to save a lot of animals as possible. This sanctuary accepts goats and sheep with terminal illnesses as well, to spend their final days as comfortable as possible.
They also conduct many programs such as animal assisted theraputic programes such as yoga, support animals for dementia and for other sort of mental health requirements. Another interesting program that this sanctuary organize is “reading-goat”, this is usually available for primary grade students to help them with speech.
Most importantly these adorable animals are living a free and a safe life at this sanctuary. This unusual animal rescue operation should not be unusual. It is a wake up call for everbody to focus on every type of animal who needs rescuing.
