Sharon Cutler, a wildlife photographer from Bournemout, was stranded at home throughout the lockdown and had only her backyard to capture. That’s when she began to photograph the wild squirrels that frequented her garden. Sharon recalled having a little handmade bed that she had previously used to photograph her daughter’s guinea pig. After that, the photographer altered the bed put it in her garden and photographed the squirrels that came to enjoy it.

After Sharon shared the images on Facebook, people fell in love with Cyril the Squirrel, who had come to relax in bed after a long day in the garden.

The bed was initially created for a photograph of Sharon’s daughter’s guinea pig.

In an interview, Sharon says she created the bed a few years ago as a prop for her daughter’s guinea pigs. “I’ve been out of work for over a month due to the coronavirus, and because I’ve only had my back yard to shoot in, I thought I’d see if I could capture some shots of the wild squirrels that are often in my garden,” Sharon said. “I merely concealed some peanuts in the beds, and the squirrels went crazy for them.”

Sharon confesses to putting a few peanuts in the bed to entice the Squirrel.

Sharon then proceeded to utilize even more little props.

Sharon has a tiny bathtub as an accessory in her bathroom.

Sharon utilized a little bath in her bathroom for another bathroom picture and created the miniature towel rack, towel, and bath mat to complete the setting.

The little towel rack, towel, and bath mat were all created by the photographer.

The bath appeared to pique the squirrels’ attention as well.

Sharon says she has a lot of ideas for future projects and that the only thing holding her back right now is her broken hot glue gun. I’m hoping for a new one to come shortly!

Who’d have guessed that such little animals could be so photogenic?
