Cannabis lovers have spent many years promoting cannabinoid products and encouraging everyone to learn about the benefits of consuming it. Luckily, as the years went by and the younger generation is becoming more aware of using cannabis products, studies are now discovering new compounds and benefits each day.

Cannabinoids are known for its amazing healing and medicinal properties. Many of us know the popular cannabinoids, THC and CBD, but lately the mother of these two compounds has made an appearance in the cannabis industry.

CBG, famously dubbed as the “Mother of All Cannabinoids” and the “Rolls Royce of Cannabinoid” has definitely impressed all of us with its promising benefits and the ability to treat or prevent certain conditions that the human body can struggle with.

CBG has been overlooked all these years until now, and after learning its therapeutic properties and its benefits such as helping with anxiety and treating glaucoma, you will begin to wonder, “why have we not switched to CBG oil years ago?”

What is CBG?

CBG, also known as Cannabigerol, is found in hemp and cannabis plants. It is not a psychoactive, it is similar to CBD and offers medicinal properties as well.

Cannabis plants produce cannabigerolic acid, CBGA, and it comes before tetrahydrocannabinolic (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), hence the name “mother of all cannabinoids.”

How does CBG work?

CBG is just like other cannabinoids when it comes to the influence on the human body. It works through the endocannabinoid system that is inside our bodies and binds with CB1 receptors, which are in the nervous system and the brain, and CB2 receptors, found mainly in the cells of the immune system.

Why you should begin trying CBG oil

CBG oil has proven that it is very beneficial for the human body after the studies conducted throughout the years. CBG is therapeutic physically and psychologically.

Anti-inflammatory effects

A study on inflammatory bowel disease has discovered the CBG holds anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce and prevent such conditions.

Neuroprotective effects

CBG has been found to have incredible results on neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington’s disease and it can protect the nervous system.

Appetite stimulant effects

A study back in 2016 discovered that CBG can stimulate the appetite, and that has helped people who are going through chemotherapy or have lost their appetite due to HIV and cancer.

Antibacterial effects

Another major discovery for CBG was its antibacterial effects on the human body. CBG can fight bacterial strains such as Staphylococcus aureus bacterium.

Why has CBG been unknown?

CBG is known to be expensive for cannabis companies to produce due to the fact that it can only be found in most cannabis plants with less than 1%, which means extracting in large quantities is hard.

Compared to CBD, hemp strains contain 20% of CBD, while the same crop has 1% or less of CBG. Fortunately, the innovation of companies has made CBG oil available for consumers everywhere in the US to enjoy the beneficial properties and promising results.
